Jianyu An

Greetings! You have reached the webpage of Jim An. I am a Computer Science PhD Student at the University of Maryland. My interest lies in the intersection of Autonomy, Machine Learning and Alignment. I have been developing navigation algorithms for robots to better explore unknown environments while following human preferences. I found my academic home here at the UMD GAMMA lab where we do some cool research with robotics! I got my bachelors at Virginia Tech and my masters at Georgia Tech through the OMSCS program. Prior to joining UMD, I was an Engineer at the NAWCAD. Please feel free to check out my cv or various social links at the end of this page.
